Fresh from a New Jersey estate, we find this gorgeous Sadler teapot! James Sadler founded his company in 1882 and became one of the leading outlet manufacturers of tea pots in England during his day. His work was world renown for its very good quality and great sense of style and taste. This beautiful example is no exception...swirled ivory porcelain with a delicate and lovely 22K gold painted gilded spiral design, topped with rich and satisfying decorative gold touches on the spout, lid and handle. Our teapot is in excellent vintage condition with no chips are cracks present. It appears to have been used very little. There are a few very slight surface scratches to the gold gilding, only seen with extremely close scrutiny. No crazing or staining anywhere on the pot or lid. Made in the 1950's, it bears the blue "Sadler Made in England " mark along with the impressed "SADLER ENGLAND" lettering on the bottom. With the gold glaze, we see the pattern numbers 2737, along the number 7 underneath it. A timeless classic!
Dimensions are approximately 8 3/4" in height with the lid on, 7" width, spout to handle and about 5 1/2" in depth.
